Minerva Beach RV Park - Page 291

The Minerva Beach Corporation, The State of Washington, and the Skokomish Indian Tribe reached an agreement for a major land swap and sale that affects this campground. The "Main Traveler" part of Minerva Beach (above the highway) is now owned and operated by the State of Washington as an expanded Potlatch State Park. It appears that Washington State Park System will be making Potlatch State Park the premier State Park on Hood Canal. A lot of work has been done to connect the two RV park areas. The fiew Mobile Homes on this land have been given a years notice to to vacate (a Washington State law) so it will all be RVs by mid summer next year. The west side RVer will have access to the Canal through the existing State Park Day Use Area and not through Minerva Beach property. The few remaining RV spaces at Minerva Beach Park not covered by this land swap are gradually being converted to mobile home lots (two RV spaces become one mobile home lot) and are now suitable only for RVs to 30 feet, and will probably all be gone within the next year or so. - Courtesy of Don and Kay Damkaer
