From: Álamos to Los Mochis

Note: This route takes us from Álamos south to Los Mochis. Readers driving directly from Guaymas to Los Mochis without the side trip to Álamos should jump from 127.5 Miles on the previous log to 032.0 Miles in this log.
000.0 Miles (000.0 Km) – Km 51 just outside Álamos heading west toward Navojoa.
004.2 Miles (006.8 Km) -- Entering village of Minas Nuevas.
014.1 Miles (022.7 Km) -- Cutoff right for Presa Mocuzaria and agricultural inspection stop. When we passed we were relieved only of the citris fruits we were carrying but at other times this station may not allow the passage of other fruits and vegetables and perhaps pork and poultry. It depends upon the pest and disease problems that agriculture in the area may be having.
031.0 Miles (050.0 Km) -- Pemex #3534 on the left with magna, premium, and diesel. Entering Navojoa.
032.0 Miles (051.6 Km) -- Intersection with a stoplight. There is a VH supermarket on the right. Turn left at this intersection for Los Mochis.
032.2 Miles (051.9 Km) -- Pemex #2134 on the left with magna, premium, and diesel. It has good access.
032.6 Miles (052.5 Km) -- Km 155 marker, leaving Navojoa. In a short distance is a sign saying Los Mochis 154 Km.
033.7 Miles (054.3 Km) -- Cutoff for Libre road to Los Mochis to the right.
034.0 Miles (054.8 Km) -- Pemex #3449 on the right with magna, premium, and diesel. It has good access and a big lot for truck parking in the rear.
048.2 Miles (077.7 Km) -- Toll booth. Rates: autos – 50 pesos, 2,3, or 4 axles – 78 pesos, 5 or 6 axles – 116 pesos.
049.4 Miles (079.6 Km) -- Libre traffic rejoins us from the right.
071.0 Miles (114.4 Km) -- Entering Estación Luis. Four lanes continue through the village.
072.1 Miles (116.2 Km) -- Pemex #3560 on the right with good access and magna, premium, and diesel. A small amount of truck parking. Out of town after the Pemex.
085.8 Miles (138.3 Km) -- Cross the border into the state of Sinaloa.
090.6 Miles (146.0 Km) -- Pass through the town of Chaves Talamontes, road remains four lanes.
094.8 Miles (152.8 Km) -- Pass through town of El Carrizo, road remains four lanes.
096.1 Miles (154.9 Km) -- Cutoff to the left for the back road to El Fuerte. This back road to El Fuerte is a paved two-lane country highway, very quiet, and fine for RVs.

117.3 Miles (189.1 Km) -- Km 20 marker.
117.4 Miles (189.3 Km) -- Toll booth. Rates: autos – 25 pesos, 2,3 or 4 axles – 42 pesos, 5 or 6 axles – 60 pesos.
119.4 Miles (192.5 Km) -- Bridge over Río Fuerte.
119.4 Miles (192.5 Km) -- Pemex #1755 on left in town of San Miguel Zapotitlan. It is small and has magna, premium, and diesel. Access is OK.
129.0 Miles (208.0 Km) -- Km 1 marker.
129.6 Miles (209.0 Km) -- Pemex #2540 on the left. It has magna, premium, and diesel and good access.
Just beyond the Pemex is an overpass and off-ramp offering access to Los Mochis.
