Note: This log runs from Puerto Vallarta to Melaque. This is actually a continuation of the prior log, both were driven on the same day.

000.0 Miles (000.0 Km) -- At the north entrance to Puerto Vallarta at the stoplight opposite the Sam’s Club. We’re driving south and are on the laterals. This is Mile 41.2 of the prior log. See that log for a warning about the necessity of being on the laterals through this section.

000.1 Miles (000.2 Km) -- Pemex #4322 on the right with magna and premium, no diesel.

000.3 Miles (000.5 Km) -- Soriana supermarket on the right.

001.1 Miles (001.8 Km) -- Gigante supermarket on the left.

001.6 Miles (002.6 Km) -- Hotel Suites del Sol on the left.

001.7 Miles (002.7 Km) -- Merge left onto the main road (center lanes) and immediately get in the left turn lane. It is very difficult to see the sign on the center lanes that indicates that you must turn left to take the bypass around the back side of Puerto Vallarta so get into the main lanes even if you don’t see the sign, you don’t want to miss this turn and drive through the middle of town.

001.7 Miles (002.7 Km) -- Pemex #5185 on the left.

001.8 Miles (002.9 Km) -- Turn left for the bypass route.

002.6 Miles (004.2 Km) -- Pemex #4880 on the right with magna, premium, and diesel.

003.0 Miles (004.8 Km) -- Enter tunnel #1.

004.4 Miles (007.1 Km) -- Enter tunnel #2. Upon exiting tunnel streets are crowded but this is a main route used by large vehicles. Be prepared to turn left.

004.7 Miles (007.6 Km) -- Turn left – signed for Barra de Navidad. This puts you on Mex 200 heading south.

004.8 Miles (007.7 Km) -- Km 214 marker.

004.9 Miles (007.9 Km) -- Pemex #2385 on the right with magma, premium, and diesel.

012.9 Miles (020.8 Km) -- Agricultural checkpoint – waved through.

030.7 Miles (049.5 Km) -- New Pemex on the left with magma, premium, and diesel – no number yet – at the start of the small town of El Tuito – The Pemex is not open yet.

053.2 Miles (085.8 Km) -- A new Pemex (maybe) being built on the right side – no sign yet.

056.0 Miles (090.3 Km) -- Pemex (no number) on the right with magma, premium, and diesel.

057.4 Miles (092.6 Km) -- Enter village of J Maria Pino Suarez.

058.4 Miles (094.2 Km) -- Out of village.

063.0 Miles (101.6 Km) -- Turnoff left is to Tomatlan – Barra de Navidad is straight. We continue straight.

063.3 Miles (102.1 Km) -- Pemex #3034 on the right with magma, premium, and diesel. Good access with no parking.

071.9 Miles (116.0 Km) -- Pass through village of Campo Acosta.

079.3 Miles (127.9 Km) -- Enter town of Jose Maria Morelos.

079.4 Miles (128.1 Km) -- Km 88 marker.

079.8 Miles (128.7 Km) -- Square on the right.

080.1 Miles (129.2 Km) -- Out of town.

086.7 Miles (139.8 Km) -- Km 76 marker.

088.4 Miles (142.6 Km) -- Punta Perula right at Km 73, we continue straight.

107.5 Miles (173.4 Km) -- Enter town of E. Zapata and Francisco Villa is to the right. We continue straight.

108.1 Miles (174.4 Km) -- Km 40 marker and out of town.

112.3 Miles (181.1 Km) -- El Tecuan to the right – we stay straight for Melaque.

114.5 Miles (184.7 Km) -- Puente Purificacion.

115.5 Miles (186.3 Km) -- Tenacatita turnoff to the right, we continue straight.

115.8 Miles (186.8 Km) -- Km 27 marker.

121.9 Miles (196.6 Km) -- Boca de Iguanas to the right, we continue straight.

122.3 Miles (197.3 Km) -- Km 16 marker.

123.6 Miles (199.4 Km) -- Turnoff right is to Manzanilla just after Km 14. We continue straight.

131.8 Miles (212.6 Km) -- At intersection with Mex 80 which goes left to Guadalajara and right to Melaque – we go right for Melaque.

132.4 Miles (213.5 Km) -- At the bend where the road goes left to Barra de Navidad. We have arrived at Melaque.
