Lots of folks would like to travel in Mexico with another RV but sometimes it's tough to find someone headed your way. Since this site is seen by so many of our readers getting ready to head south we've decided, on a test basis, to post information that will make it a little easier to find other Mexico-bound RVers.

Here are the ground rules:

Send us an email with the information you think a potential caravan companion needs to know. This would probably include type of rig, where you are planning to go, your schedule, your experience in traveling in Mexico, and a contact email address. Keep in mind that anyone can see this stuff on the Web, so use some discretion. We'll post the information including your email address but not names.

Be advised that we do not know any of the folks who are likely to be listed here. It's your responsibility to get to know them and determine whether you want to travel with them.

PLANNING ON A TRIP THRU THE BAJA IN EARLY OR MID FEB. ORIGINALLY FRON VANCOUVER, CANADA, VISITING PARENTS IN FLORIDA. DON'T KNOW IF TAKING ROUTE TO MEXICANA THEN SOUTH THRU SAN FILIPE TO MULEGE/LORETO AREA AND MAYBE TO LA PAZ. WILL ALSO CONSIDER JUST USE MEXICO #1 HIGHWAYIF PREFERED. MAY CONCIDER TAKING FERRY FROM MEX MAINLAND TO BAJA PEN. NEW TO RVING BUT HAVE LOTS OF BACK COUNTRY CAMPING EXPEIENCE IN ONTARIO AND BC. HAVE GMC MOTORHOME (SEE ATTACHMENT) WHICH HAS BEEN UPDATE/UPGRADED. VERY RELIABLE UNIT AND EVEN IF I OR ACCOMPANING PARTY(S) HAVE PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM AS I HAVE SPENT YEARS RESORING VEHICLES ANS OVER 5 YEARS IN THE MOVIE INDUSTRY AS A MOTION PICTURE TECHNICIAN (SCULPTOR/SPECIAL EFFECTS FABRICATOR). I have been contemplating traveling into Mexico for the past two years.
Because of the bad activity that is being reported in Mexico, I have been reluctant to travel south of the border. I am contemplating going to Rocky Point in 2010 March 15-20th. I would like to tag along with someone that has been there before. I have a 2005 40 foot class A. We have two well behaved teenagers. Wanted! Travel buddy from Quintana Roo to Arizona, via the Mexico West Coast.

We have been traveling with an older woman in a 37’ Safari Diesel Pusher. It is her first trip into Mexico and she wants to return to the US via the west coast. She needs to be in Sacramento, CA by April 1.

We are from Texas and came down via the east coast and are not doing the west coast this trip. We are in Mahahual, Quintana Roo, and will probably be here until the end of the month, maybe longer.

If someone is doing the Yucatan loop in a counter-clockwise fashon, all the better. She wants to see more of the peninsula and especially Cancun. Personally, we have no interest in Cancun.

She doesn’t have a CB but does have a Mexican Cell (Movistar) and some walkie-talkie’s. She is a good driver but doesn’t like to drive more than 5-6 hours/day.
