Brighton
Brighton is always a fun overnight stop or even a trip for just the day. We spent the night at the Caravan Club camp site here on our way to London a couple of week earlier. The two most popular sites in Brighton are the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton Pier.
The Royal Pavilion was built by the Price of Wales, who became George IV in 1820. Construction on this lavish Oriental palace was completed in 1822. Interior tours are offered for a fee but the outside grounds are free.
The Brighton Pier is truly a different experience although it is similar to several other sea-side cities in England. The Pier is a favorite amusement spot for tourists of all ages - there's something for everyone. It is packed with entertainment including amusement rides, ice cream vendors, gift shops, video games, games of chance, deck chairs for relaxing in the sun, and lots more.
