Gardens and Parks

London, with its many parks and gardens, is one of the world's greenest cities. Parks near the center of the city are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent's Park, Green Park, and St. James Park. They're all easy to reach from the city by foot or bus and are fine places to take a break from sightseeing or to have a picnic.

Hyde Park is the largest of London's parks and is the one most popular. It has a lake, sporting activities, and lots of green lawn with cloth folding chairs for relaxing in the sun on a warm afternoon.

The beautiful Kensington Gardens are at their peak in the spring when all the flowers are in bloom.

Speaker's Corner is at the edge of Hyde Park. Here speakers get on their soap-box and voice opinions on any subject. No one was stopping to hear what this gentleman had to say.
