Holland is an excellent place for an American to purchase a European motorhome for many reasons. Amsterdam is usually one of Europe's least expensive cities to fly to from the states, it's conveniently located to the rest of Europe, and many of the Dutch people speak English.

Other popular places to buy a rig are Germany and Britain. Bringing a rig from the states works well too, but only if it is a small one that gets decent gas mileage.

Although we bought our motorhome for this trip from Americans, on an earlier trip to Europe, we did purchased through an Amsterdam dealer. Registration for an American-owned vehicle, as in all of Europe, is the main challenge. Braitman & Woudenberg helped us take care of all this paperwork, including registration, road taxes, and insurance.

With the paperwork finally all in order, we leave Braitman & Woudenberg and for better or worse, the Mercedes is ours!
