April 27 - May 8, 2002 Itinerary 4 - Central England 700 Miles 9 Overnight Destinations
This itinerary begins where Itinerary 3 concluded, in Warwick. It heads north to Bridgenorth and Ironbridge - the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, through the Peak's District National Park, then further north to most tourist's favorite English city - York, back south to the coast at East Anglia, then into the college town of Cambridge, skirts London to the west, and concludes in the famous cathedral city of Salisbury. We took twelve days to drive the 700 mile trip, therefore, daily distances were typically easy. We camped in the nine locations indicated below on the map.
