Central Station is, as its name suggests, the center for all types of transportation into, away from, and within the city. For trains, busses, trams, and many tour boats this is usually the origination and final destination. As the major confluence for all non-auto transportation, the area thrives with pedestrians hurrying to appointments or to catch a ride home.

There's always lots of activity in front of the station.
