Moon Handbooks: Baja - Joe Cummings
We think this is the best all-around guidebook to the Baja. Cummings lives
on the peninsula, he does a great job.

- Jack Williams and Patty Williams
A good all-around guidebook to the peninsula. It has information about geology, plants,
history, places to stay (including some campground information), and lots of other things.
It's now out of print but copies are sometimes available at a reasonable
price by following the link to the left.

Lonely Planet's Baja and Los Cabos -Danny Palmerlee
Very similar to the Moon Handbook: Baja listed above. Lonely planet
also publishes a full line of guides to the entire world. Some people like Lonely Planet,
some like the Moon Guides. They're both excellent.

Baja Catch, 3rd Edition - Neil Kelly and Gene Kira
An excellent guide to fishing Baja waters with a small car-top or trailer boat. Also
has lots of information about remote boondocking sites.

The Baja Adventure Book - Walt Peterson
If you are an outdoor sports lover don't read this book unless you really want to visit
the Baja. Once you pick it up you won't be able to stay away.

Roadside Geology and Biology of Baja California - John,
Edwin, and Jason Minch
This is a kilometer-by-kilometer guide to the geology and natural history
of the Baja Peninsula along the highways. The book is out of print but
copies are sometimes available on Amazon, you can check by following the
